When Jade Green met successful trial lawyer,
Charles Trotter, she found herself relaxing in
the warmth of his smiles and his off-beat
humor. Best of all, even though he was a
blue-eyed hunk, she thought of him only as a
great guy to hang with-no drama, no intimacy,
no possibility of shattered dreams. And
wonder of wonders, he seemed to feel exactly
the same way!
When Charles Totter met Jade Green, he
thought she was a walking wet dream. As he
got to know her better, he found he also
enjoyed her company and her quirky sense of
humor. Now if he could only find a way to get
her into his bed!

This book was different but it was okay. It's not what
I considered erotic or hot and steamy, but more
mellow. The story spans over some 13-15 years and
it lets you see that not all cheating husbands do so
just because they can. And that not all mistresses
want to become 2nd wives or ignore their
step-children. Personnally, I don't condone inifdelity
in marriage, regardless of the reason, but this book
help me see that there is always more than one side
in story. It was an excellent read.

This story was cool but because one it's a story
that happens far too often in real life. People
stay with a person because they have a child or
children. The marriage has been over or should
have been over years ago and they hold on
simply because of children but they lead
separate lives and I'm pretty sure well to do/rich
people do it more often than not because they
have the money to carry on like this. Does the
actions of Jade in this story coincide with my
own morals no but I do understand how people
get caught up in life. When you've been hurt
and you find someone to ease that pain and
you are understanding and accepting of their
situation who is anyone to question that
besides God. I didn't like how Charles kept
prolonging the inevitable with the oldest son's
mother but he came full circle. I just wish the
ending was better but it fit with the story.

This story had real meat and depth for all of the
characters even though I have a real problem with
infidelity regardless of the reasons. But aside from
that, this novel knocked it out of the park with how
marriage, divorce, deceit, misunderstandings and
pure hatred has a ripple affect to everyone around
them. I loved that it was not so neat and tidey and
their real obstacles for the couple and it spanded
years not weeks. All of the flaws of individuals and
triumphs were present. Excellent job handling
racism both ways and the family dynamic with all
of its imperfections. This story really delved deep
into decision making and living with the
consequences of them.
this is not for the faint of heart as far as story lines
go. If you don't want truth and all the range and
depth of emotion that makes you want to screem
at the characters at times, then this is not the story
for you.
